Regional Meetings

In an effort to improve its services to and interaction with its members and stakeholders, the Forum launched a process of engaging District NGO Fora with an aim of improving its outreach strategy. This strategy is aimed at improving headquarter's linkage with the districts and to ensure that issues being addressed arise from districts. In collaboration with its six Regional Representatives (Central, Western, Northern, South Western, Eastern, North Eastern regions) the Forum Secretariat met and discusses district and regional issues of highest concern with district representatives and prioritized them into activities that can be undertaken in the short and medium term. NGO Forum Donates Computers to District NGO Fora

Under its Computers for Development Programme, a collaborative initiative with Computer Aid International, the Forum has donated refurbished computers to all operational District NGO Fora. This is aimed at enhancing information flow and experience sharing through electronic means such as email between the Secretariat and the District Fora and members. So far 19 District NGO Fora have already received their computers and others are in the process of receiving theirs. Individual organisations are also encouraged to apply for computers, while stocks last. Over 70 CSOs have already benefited from this programme. Individual organisations pay a highly discounted charge for a computer with a year's guarantee.

Rakai District NGO Forum starts a Resource Centre
