Introduction

The second edition of the National CSO Fair is situated within the overall mood of Uganda’s 50 Years of independence golden jubilee celebrations at which all will share CSOs initiatives, plans and activities with government, development partners, private sector and the public, Civil Society will showcase innovations and development approaches and consolidate stakeholder linkages, synergy and networking for greater solidarity

Organizers
The National CSO Fair will be hosted by a cross section of Civil Society Organizations operating at both National and Sub-National levels

Venue and date
The National CSO Fair will take place on May 31st and June 1st 2012 at Hotel Africana, Kampala, and is expected to bring together over 10,000 participants from all over Uganda and beyond.

Who will participate?
The CSO Fair will attract participants from the Academia, Government Ministries Departments and Agencies, the Civil Society, the Media, the donor community, the Private Sector and the general public.

What is expected at the CSO Fair?
NGOs, CSOs, Government Institutions, Corporate Companies and Private Sector organizations will exhibit different categories of innovative works and products that have been part of the rich social, political, economic and cultural diversity of Uganda. For 2 days, there will be multiple events organized and conducted simultaneously to reinforce each other, including parallel discussion sessions and a variety of entertainment.

Key outcomes
The CSO Fair will create an opportunity for different actors in Uganda to appreciate the work of CSOs, build mutual trust, confidence and strategic alliances for Uganda’s development. A final communiqué for collective commitment to Social. Political and Economic transformation of Uganda will be issued at the end of the Fair, followed by a detailed report of all events for extended learning and impact.
