As part of strengthening collaboration with CSO actors on the international scene, we hosted a team from CONCORD (a European NGO Network) on 15th October 2021.

UNNGOF was pleased to host a team from CONCORD comprising of the Director Ms Tanya Cox and Mr Riccardo Roba, the Policy and Advocacy Advisor. Also present were UNNGOF members i.e. Centre for Conflict Resolution (CECORE), Education Local Expertise Center Uganda (ELECU) and Council for Economic Empowerment for Women of Africa (CEEWA).

High on the agenda was the role of civil society in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting also particularly focused on Education, Gender Equality, Peace, Civic Space and Governance. UNNGOF and CONCORD committed to strengthen their engagement with the European Union to ensure its International partnerships/interventions focus on these discussed priority areas.

CONCORD is a European confederation of Relief and Development NGOs and made of member organizations representing more than 2600 NGOs operating across Europe. As membership-based organizations, this meeting was an opportunity to share notes on building vibrant CSO networks that collectively engage in the development process both locally and beyond.

Dr. Moses Isooba, UNNGOF Executive Director appreciated the team for the visit and in the spirit of #SDG17 pledged commitment towards close collaboration between Uganda National NGO Forum and CONCORD.
